BasePub · Designing signal into the noise
BasePub is an AI research discovery platform—built to surface and connect high-value signals for builders, researchers, and teams. At the time of our work, it was being built and led by Lior Alexander, who came to us to bring clarity to the experience. We redesigned the platform from the ground up—refining the brand system and simplifying the interface to make research feel accessible, not overwhelming. Cleaner layouts, clearer navigation, and intuitive filtering now turn a fast-moving stream of papers into something navigable and actionable. As the exploration layer alongside AlphaSignal—Lior’s widely read AI newsletter—BasePub helps 100K+ practitioners dive deeper. What began as a visual and UX overhaul has become a sharper, more scalable foundation—positioning BasePub as the interface for AI progress.
The Challenge
AI research is accelerating, but the experience of following it was noisy. BasePub surfaced strong signals, but the interface made it easy to get lost in feeds, filters, and fragmented views. It needed to feel like a clear window into the work, not another layer of complexity.
The Solution
We rebuilt the experience around focus and legibility — calmer layouts, clear hierarchy, and interactions that make dense information easy to scan and act on. Instead of a complete reset, we evolved the product: tighter spacing, clearer navigation, more deliberate typography. BasePub now presents AI research as something you move through with confidence, not fight against.
