About

Kundo Studio worked with Runreal co-founder and CEO Marwan Hilmi from August 2024: first a full rebrand, then the website and product interface. Runreal makes open-source tools for Unreal Engine developers. It is based in Los Angeles, was founded in 2024 and took part in a16z speedrun (Cohort 003). Its tools are public on GitHub. Hilmi later brought Kundo Studio in again to design the identity of Grove Motor Co.

The challenge

Runreal needed a brand and a product that told one clear story. Its tools were technically strong, and the complexity of the technology made them hard to explain.

The solution

We rebuilt the brand from the ground up with the founders, defining a visual and verbal identity. We then designed a storytelling website, with motion and sound design, and simplified the product workflows. Runreal still uses this work today.
